Stress Management IS part of Heart Healthy Living
I had a wonderful day as part of the Library of Congresses Heart Health Month Presentation.
I had an opportunity to share some stress management techniques to improve heart health. Here are the cliff notes:
Get Enough Sleep
When you get enough sleep you can reduce the stress hormones that circulate in your system.
The heart is a muscle that needs to be worked on a regular basis. Exercise also helps improve sleep and helps to maintain appropriate weight too. Here is an article about heart healthy exercise
Eat Heart Healthy Foods
Focus on whole foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, legumes, nuts and seeds. Lean antibiotic free meats, and dairy are acceptable too. Here is my article on Heart Healthy Foods
Laugh Often - Everyday if you can
Find ways to laugh it releases stress. To read more about laughter as a stress reliever Read my article about laughter and stress.
