Diabetes is more than just high blood sugars

When I was young, people that had diabetes wouldn’t call it diabetes. Instead, they would say, “you know I got sugar”.  Everyone knew what they meant. It was accepted that “the sugar” was something that people got and they just lived with.  I am here to tell you it is NOT alright to live with diabetes. It is dangerous and it can deadly.

November is Diabetes Awareness Month, so as we speak about gratitude and thanksgiving I want you to think about being grateful for your good health now and into the future.  Wouldn’t you be grateful to have a chance to change your health and reverse your diabetes?

The truth is that diabetes is not just about sugar. Diabetes is a problem with your body’s ability to metabolize your food correctly.  People with diabetes also have others diseases like high cholesterol, hypertension, extra weight, obesity, and heart disease. Diabetes is a disease that sets you up for more diseases in the future.

Many people don’t manage their diabetes well. Instead, they shake it off and say things like “I will eat better tomorrow or next week”.  Those are the same people who 10 -20 years down the road are faced with amputation issues or dialysis 3 times a week. If you don’t take a hold of your health now, you will have to deal with the consequences later.  But by then it is too late!

Diabetes often starts with small symptoms that are inconvenient, which then turn into problems that you just learn to live with.  Diabetes often makes you feel hungry or a slave to sugar cravings. It makes you feel tired, it can interrupt your sleeping pattern. It makes you more susceptible to colds and flus, it increases your sensitivity to pain of arthritis, is messes up your digestive system in can even reduce your fertility options.  Have noticed these issues happening to you? Or did you just crop all of those symptoms up to old age?

I have mentored hundreds of people, helping reverse their diabetes and pre-diabetes back to normal.  It comes from using a systemic and holistic approach to diabetes, instead of just using medications to mask the symptoms.

Below is a testimonial from a patient that was diagnosed with diabetes many years ago and, since starting with our program, she has been able to stabilize her blood sugars.
