What type of experience are you creating for your holidays?
I LOVE CHRISTMAS! I always have. I love it because ever since I was child my parents made the holidays an experience. So this month theme is experiences create a sweet life.
My first memories of Christmas include my dad loading us into the car super early in the morning and taking us to the Christmas tree farm to pick out our own trees. Until I was 7 years old, I thought that is what everyone did!
Once my parents got divorced, we didn’t have much money, so we didn’t focus on gifts or trees. Instead, we would have experiences with my mom or our friends. I spent the first 20 years of my life making gifts for my friends and family because it was all I had to share. I spent time creating something for people I love.
As a result, I never really experienced the holidays as commercial. This is one of the biggest complaints that I hear from people about the holiday season.
Here is the TRUTH about the experiences: you have to have health to be a part of the experience! If you are struggling with pain, it prevents you from wanting to get out of the house or enjoy holiday parties. If you are overweight, or get out of breath easily, you can’t keep up with your grand babies. If you are taking medications, you have to leave a breakfast conversation to take your pills and you may have missed the joke because you were in the other room.
If you don’t have your health, you are missing the experiences with the people you love. It is a strong call to get your health back in the new year. It will make all the difference for you in 2019. Call the office and let us help you get there.
