How to be the most loving Valentine - EVER!

The best way to be the most loving valentine ever is to love yourself first and then love every other person from your overflow.

Self-care is the practice of taking action to preserve or improve one's own health.   Self-care is the theme of the month and it creates the sweetest life.

Self-care practices are more simple than you think.  Let me give you an example. Have you ever skipped a meal and then, by the end of the day, you are so hungry or tired that you snap at your partner or your children just out of sheer frustration?  Later you feel bad about and apologize for your actions, but you can’t take it back.

If you had taken 10 minutes out of your day to feed yourself, to provide yourself with sustenance and energy, you could have avoided the entire incident.  In this example, eating lunch is an act of self-care. This is how simple self-care can be.

By the way, when you skip a meal, you are causing your body to release stress hormones that contribute to weight gain, high blood pressure, diabetes, anxiety, hot flashes, high cholesterol and heart disease.

If you skip meals regularly, you are putting yourself at risk for any or all of these over the course of time.  So that alone confirms how self-care is so important for your short and long term health.

Valentine’s Day is a day where we celebrate the love that have for others.  It also needs to be a day that we celebrate love for ourselves. If you want to be a loving valentine to your partner, spouse, or children you have to make sure that you are taking care of your health and well-being so you can show up for them on this special and many other days to come!

One of the best gifts you can give to the people you love is your own good health.  So, I encourage you to take a chance on love and come let us help you learn how to love yourself and your loved ones even better.

To Your One Sweet Life,

Dr. Dae
