It Might Be Perimenopause—Here’s What You Need to Know!

As women, we often hear about menopause, but what about the stage leading up to it—perimenopause?

Many of us may notice changes in our bodies around our 40s but aren’t sure why they’re happening. That’s because perimenopause, the transition leading up to menopause, can start earlier than most expect. Believe it or not, there are over 40 different symptoms you might experience during this stage.

Perimenopause affects every system in your body, and while hot flashes and trouble sleeping get most of the attention, there’s so much more going on. For instance, you may start getting migraines or notice digestive issues like bloating and discomfort. Your skin, nails, and hair may change too, becoming drier or more brittle. Maybe you’re suddenly dealing with heart palpitations, joint pain, or muscle aches. Even things like memory problems or brain fog could be linked to perimenopause.

Other symptoms like vaginal dryness, decreased libido, or urinary changes can also feel isolating, but they’re more common than you think. Some women experience neurological sensations like tingling in their arms or legs, or they may develop food allergies or changes in taste. Weight gain, especially around the midsection, and fluctuating body odor can further complicate how we feel about ourselves.

Why do I share all this?
